How DOES COACHING WORK?
The structure of our partnership is flexible, based on your individual needs and schedule. Generally the process consists of:
Discovery Process - A complimentary phone conversation to explore possibilities and see if I am the right coach for you. I only take on clients when I know I can make a significant contribution. If we agree to work together I prepare a proposal for your consideration. Fees are determined after I have a clear understanding of your objectives.
Comprehensive Assessment - An initial 90-minute session to assess your competencies, strengths and development opportunities. When appropriate, 360-degree feedback is obtained by conducting confidential interviews with peers, your boss and subordinates.
Coaching Program - Together we review the data gathered from the assessment. I then develop a customized coaching program to achieve your objectives.
1:1 Coaching –Coaching conversations usually happen two or three times each month, lasting from one half hour to an hour. Depending upon the circumstances, we can meet face-to-face or by phone. Together we will define the length and frequency that best supports your intended outcomes.
Shadowing - Some executives invite me to observe them in the moment, during their busy days, in key meetings and conversations, so I can give confidential feedback about their impact.
Check-in – Throughout the coaching process, I check-in with whom ever engaged me (you or your management sponsor) to assure we are on track in our collaboration.
Performance Evaluation - Together, we evaluate the impact of the coaching, acknowledge and celebrate success and map out a plan for sustained effectiveness.
